Senior Conference

Recently the 11 Senior Missionary couples serving in Indonesia met in Yogyakarta for a three day conference.  We had a mix of spiritual instruction and sightseeing.  Topics included Indonesian Phrases and Etiquette, Humanitarian Services, Going Forth with Faith, Family History and Missionary Work, Developing a Christ-Like Attitude, Serving with Joy and Dedication, What Happily Married Couples Do, Identifying Needs and Seeking Resolutions, and Enduring to the End.  All the topics and related discussion were thought provoking and helpful.

We spent time at a place that makes Batik (a process of coloring and putting designs on material unique to Indonesia) fabric that is used for clothing, table clothes, etc;  and a place that makes jewerly with silver, gold and copper.  We also toured the PRAMBANAN HINDU TEMPLE, shopped on Malioboro Street--the main street in Yogyakarta with hundreds of shops and stores, and watched the RAMAYANA BALLET.

We stayed at the ROYAL AMBARRUKMO.  This very nice dark blue Bentley (high performance Rolls Royce) was parked in front of the hotel the entire time.  I was told it belonged to the owner of the hotel and the car was to add class!
The royal carriage also parked out front and available for rides.

This is the entrance to the Batik factory.  Note the decal on the top portion of the back window of the van---The Angel Moroni.  Many of the church members have these on there cars and motorcycles.
